Federal Institute of Science and Technology is an approved RESOURCE Centre of IITB for the Spoken Tutorial project. FISAT intends to promote FOSS by conducting evening classes for Open Sources Software at FISAT, and awareness programs in colleges and nearby schools in and around Ernakulam and Thrissur districts in Kerala.
The Resource Centre of Spoken Tutorial Project of IIT Bombay was inaugurated by Sri. G Madhavan Nair, Former Chairman, Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), in the presence of Dr. Kannan M Moudgalya, Principal Investigator Spoken Tutorial, IIT Bombay & Dr. V Sasi Kumar, FSF India on 25th April 2013 at FISAT.
The objective of establishing the Resource Centre – Spoken Tutorial is to promote Free and Open Source Software (FOSS). A Resource Centre has the responsibility to organise workshops monthly in 5 colleges and 5 schools with the support of the Spoken Tutorial Project Team. Resource Centre could organise Events in their premises and/ or participate in Events/Seminars happening in the region. Resource Centre Team Members can be active in terms of visiting various colleges and schools and making presentations.
