Outline:

Display an equation using the equation environment. Use dmath environment to automatically break the equation into lines and number it. Use of \left[ ... \right] to resize brackets as per the content length. \\ (manual line breaks) are not required in the dmath environment. Use dmath* environment to break a long equation without numbering it.
