• Installing XAMPP before Moodle installation separately?

  I have followed all the steps in the Installation sheet provided by Spoken Tutorials for Windows 10 Moodle installation. The XAMPP control panel tells me to run the program from the "XAMPP root directory". What does it mean? Do i have to separately install XAMPP on my Windows laptop before following the steps mentioned in the installation sheet for Windows 10? Please help. I have not been able to practise the tutorials because of this problem. Already 4 days gone hopelessly trying to install Moodle.

• Start Moodle application

  I have started with " Start Moodle" by double clicking. I can see Apache and MYSQL are running. There is a windows security alert that "windows defender firewall  has blocked some features of this app".  I don't know whether mysqld & Apache HTTP server can communicate on these networks, first option { } private networks such as my home or work network, second option   { } public networks, such as those in airports and coffee shops................. Out of the two options, what exactly do I need to choose?

• Not able to configure database settings

  I am getting an error message saying the database cannot be created. Please dont ask me to follow the installation sheet. The sheet refers to only four fields for this page to fill up. But my webpage shows six fields.

  I have been trying to open the Terminal by pressing Ctrl + Alt + T together.  But nothing is prompting.  Is there any other command to open the terminal?  Please guide.

  While installing Moodle in my laptop-windows 10, I am getting stuck at database installation page.Database configuration page In the Database configuration page 1. Enter your database credentials 2. Database host: localhost (by default localhost) ...this is ok3. Database name: moodle-st ...this is ok4. Database user: moodle-st ...not able to change this..."root" is written there...notable to change5. • Difficulty in steps: To check if XAMPP is installed

  I am working on windows 10 and I could easily download and install XAMPP from apachefreinds.org/index.html and when I checked for it as you said in the video, it directly said installed, and I could created the user account. So I did not have to use the steps after that. Why the difference? Also, am I doing it right?
