Mesh converted from Fluent with Multiple zones (using splitMeshRegions issue in OF)
Dear Whom it may concern, I am working as Nuclear Scientist in USA. I like to model spent fuel pool using OF chtMultiRegionTwoPhaseEulerFoam solver.( I have done self-study of OF for about 8 months). I am working for resolving multi-region meshing conversion issue now. In order to extend the meshing approach for complicated geometry, I am trying to transfer the mesh generated by using Fluent into OF. For relatively simple solver like icoFoam, there is no problem on this approach(fluentMeshToFoam converter method). But when I try to apply this approach to tutorial case (solidQuecnhing2D; ESI2012 version) with chtMultiRegionTwoPhaseEulerFoam, there is error message coupled with runApplication splitMeshRegions -cellZonesOnly -overwrite.(i.e., polyMesh folder on each material(water and solid in constant folder) are not generated). From my extensive research of OF manuals and tests of models, Multiple material meshes are not permitted. If multiple fluid materials exist, they will be converted into a single OpenFOAM mesh; if a solid region is detected, the converter will attempt to filter it out. However, Using splitMeshRegions -cellZonesOnly -overwrite command in OF, OF allows the user to define a patch on heated solid boundary faces with cells on both sides(solid_to_water; water_to_solid). I think such patches are allowed to generate the polymesh in each material zone (water / solid) based on the constant/polyMesh generated by using Fluent mesh converter. However, it does not generate polyMesh in each material folder(water/solid). I am sincerely looking for the alternative ways or related reference case or appropriate procedures on this matter. Any comments or help is welcome. It would be great if you can search for answer on my issue or introduce me to any OF expert on this matter. Thank you in in advance for giving me time on this matter.

Importing Mesh file
Importing mesh file in OpenFOAM - Q.1 Enclosure created around the cylinder,I want to know :Since the cylinder is a solid entity, the enclosure is a surface body or a solid itself?Next informationi want to know is..... If the enclosure is a solid, then do i have to subtract the cylinder from the enclosure to be able to mesh the area external to the cylinder? And last queries. I am using SALOME. I used a solid body and a solid enclosure, specified the groups and generated the mesh. Later in the terminal i imported using ideasUnvToFoam and then used blockMesh then checkMesh commands. Till here it is all, the mesh is good, but when running the adjointShapeOptimizationFoam solver it shows FATAL ERROR. And i dont know what to do. Please help. Any suggestion will be helpful. Include rectangular and square fin in square cavityGood afternoon sir,by your videos i have learned many things shall I consider square cavity of length 1.6m.In side the cavity i want to include rectangular fin of length 0.7m X 0.25m.please tell me the idea so that i can do the Practice.what solver to be used ? with out fin i have used buoyant Boussinesq Simple Foam.

Include rectangular/square fin in square cavity
Good evening sir,by your videos i have learned many things also i am doing research using openfoam too. still i am learner.my work is " study of convection in side the square enclosure with rectangular fin " square cavity of length 1m X 1m.In side the cavity i want to include rectangular fin of length 0.6m X 0.2m.please tell me the idea so that i can do it.what solver to be used ? with out fin i have used buoyantBoussinesqSimpleFoam for my results.
