ಯಾವುದೋ ಒಂದು ‘ಕಂಡಿಶನ್’ಅನ್ನು ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿಸಲು ‘if’ ‘ಕಂಡಿಶನಲ್-ಸ್ಟೇಟ್ಮೆಂಟ್’ಅನ್ನು ಬಳಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಒಂದುವೇಳೆ ಆ 'ಕಂಡಿಶನ್' ನಿಜವಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಆಗ ‘ಕೋಡ್’ನ ಒಂದು ಭಾಗವನ್ನು ಎಕ್ಸಿಕ್ಯೂಟ್ ಮಾಡಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಯಾವುದೋ ಒಂದು ‘ಕಂಡಿಶನ್’ಅನ್ನು ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿಸಲು ‘if-else’ ‘ಕಂಡಿಶನಲ್-ಸ್ಟೇಟ್ಮೆಂಟ್’ಅನ್ನು ಬಳಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಒಂದುವೇಳೆ ಆ ‘ಕಂಡಿಶನ್’ ನಿಜವಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಆಗ ‘ಕೋಡ್’ನ ಒಂದು ಭಾಗವನ್ನು ಎಕ್ಸಿಕ್ಯೂಟ್ ಮಾಡಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೆ, ‘else’ ‘ಬ್ಲಾಕ್’ನಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವ ‘ಕೋಡ್’ಅನ್ನು ಎಕ್ಸಿಕ್ಯೂಟ್ ಮಾಡಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
