Spoken Tutorials opened the big door of open source tools and software learning in our Institution. Our students are now comfortable with Linux OS. They have benefited from tutorials for Java, C/C++, Shell Programming etc to a great extent. They are confident to use LaTeX, the defacto standard for technical documentation for reporting their Projects Works.

We have conducted a Workshop on Social Media Awareness for elderly people. During this program they learned about a basics of using a Personal Computer in their native language using a spoken tutorial in the Digital Divide track.

Another effort based on spoken tutorial platform is the execution of FOSSE Workshop Series in different tracks meant for Plus1/Plus2 students. This workshop was also well appreciated by the students from different schools.

I have been involved with the spoken tutorial project since 2012 in multiple roles such as a participant, organizer, external contributor, reviewer etc. I have enjoyed the wholehearted support and encouragement from the entire spoken tutorial team in all these roles.

I am really proud to a part of the Spoken Tutorial Project in a variety of roles in bridging the digital divide there by making India IT literate

Spoken Tutorial is very useful for the students. We conducted tutorials on Java. Object Oriented Programming in Java is one of their subjects in syllabus. Most of the students were not interested in programming earlier. When we started the training, it seemed that their interest got increased in this course. As it is an audio-video tutorial, with each step described and its output at each stage, make the subject more easy to understand. Since all the tutorials are easily accessible to everyone, teachers, students and community, all get benefited from this. This is a very good project of IIT Bombay.

Spoken Tutorial is a very easy and efficient way to learn software. Video Tutorials are very helpful and all topics are discussed clearly to understand. Team is very active and accessible to any time for clearing doubts. Although the steps are little long from registration to filling STPs, but the outreach officer from WB helped us a lot. I strongly recommend all colleges to teach their students using the materials of Spoken Tutorial. We would like to continue with Spoken Tutorial in every academic year to teach our students.

In connection with spoken tutorial, a free online tutorial is highly beneficial for the students of Madras Institute of Technology, Anna University, Chennai. The students from different branches and various years opted for the courses such as C, Q++, Java, Scilab, Python, K-CAD, Q-CAD, OSCAD, etc. Some of the courses are mapped with the regular curriculum and the other tools are helpful to understand the subject to implement their project work. Latex is beneficial for the PG students and the research scholars. These value added courses are highly appreciated during their placement. The course reaches each and every student personally to enhance their programming skill which is the need of the day. This self learning enables the student community to think higher and integrate with the real world and also equip them for the corporate world. We appreciate the Spoken Tutorial initiative of "National Mission on Education" through ICT, MHRD, Government of India.

We would like to share with you some of the comments and feedbacks of our students who have been actively participating in the Spoken Tutorial based Software Training sessions for the past one year on various software. Their feedbacks were very encouraging to our Faculty coordinators and also motivated other students to take part in this training, so that it would help them enhance their career opportunities.

More than 70 of the 88 placed students feel that this Spoken Tutorial training helped them to be well-equipped for the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) campus recruitment. So we are planning on encouraging all our students to be a part of this project, to make them stronger in their programming language skills and we have determined to plan the Training sessions through the regular lab hours for the relevant courses in a systematic way starting from this Academic year and continue thereon.

Department of Computer Engineering at K. K. Wagh Institute of Engineering Education and Research, Nashik, Maharashtra started conducting Spoken Tutorials in the year 2012. We conducted training on various subjects like Latex, Scilab, C, Linux, PHP/MYSQL in our department and I am very glad to inform you that till date 465 students obtained certifications for these courses. I would also like to share with you that our faculty has also shown keen interest in all the sessions with 44 faculties certified in various courses. Students were fully satisfied with the contents of every session and they enjoyed it a lot. We wish to thank the entire team of Spoken Tutorial at IIT Bombay on the behalf of our students and faculty for providing us an opportunity to be a part of this innovative project. We look forward to conducting the workshops and certifications, and share the idea with other colleges as well.
