I am very glad to inform you that I got an opportunity to speak about my experience with IIT Bombay for working on a project (Spoken Tutorials). This exposure seemed to be one of the reasons for getting selected in TCS, which various engineers and other graduates would love to. The amazing certificates and having leadership qualities for organizing several workshops during my college days brought in me the confidence to undertake any task. I have got into TCS as a Linux developer. The first time I learned about Linux is when I conducted as well as undertook a test on Linux which was organized by IIT Bombay.
I thank all my faculty members (Maya Nair) in S.I.E.S for giving me this opportunity to work with the people at IIT Bombay, which I always dreamt of, as well as for supporting me in conducting workshops. And all the great and wonderful people at IIT (Shyama Iyer, Kannan Moudgalya, and all others) for selecting my college for marketing the project. I am very privileged to have worked with it IIT Bombay as an ambassador as well as a Workshop Manager.
The opportunities which you people give open new doors in future, which helps in churning out an individual's personality and confidence as well as having a great bond with amazing people like you.
Please, I would request you to carry on this great work and cover almost the entire India (which I think you may have covered already), but still, so that everybody is IT literate, and people like me, the organizers can develop and improve a lot and help others.
The common issue faced by the CSE/IT/MCA departments during any committee visit is the software licences issue. We outperformed this issue with the use of free software for all our laboratory courses trained using Spoken Tutorials.

The online interface of Spoken Tutorials for conducting workshops, assessment tests and getting feedback is visited and much appreciated by the team members.
It is also insisted this is a standard model which is to be followed by all the training and testing of courses. Hats off to the Spoken Tutorials team.
Hai all. We have our office attender who is a 12th standard passed out student from a remote village. She takes pride in learning the Tux Typing software during her free hours using Spoken Tutorials. We at SIT, appreciate Spoken Tutorial team for "reaching the unreached".

This semester I taught our introductory programming course (In C) SI-415. I introduced the students to the Spoken Tutorials on C and used some
of them in class (for example on functions, pointers etc.). The students also took the test.

I found that most important is that their fear will go away. They feel that because they are learning in short simple steps they also can replicate the instructions and run the programs. In this way the initial barrier will break down. In programming it is always better and there is nothing like writing your own program, compiling and running it.
Even for language features like function, recursion, linked list -- the same approach is used, all manageable programs which they can build and run. This builds their confidence highly. It is well known that listening is always better than reading and that is why this works and is suited for independent learning. It helps that instead of reading theory you see the concept in a small program, do it, practice it and understand it hands on very simply. It is interactive in nature and hence works.
I highly recommend Spoken Tutorials as a resource for a first course in C.
These couple of weeks I have started working with Java, Libre Office suit and Linux Ubantu through spoken-tutorial. The videos are excellent. Anyone can begin learning from the video and other learning materials provided. I really thank the Spoken Tutorial Project Group for their efforts.
I find the libre Office and Java lecture video tutorials very useful, as per the feedback from my students. We have already conducted workshops on
