This tutorial series is created using ASCEND version 0.9.8 on Ubuntu 12.04. ASCEND is a free and open source software for mathematical modeling.It is a initiative of Carnegie Mellon University and it started on late 1980's. ASCEND solves models by equation based approach thus greatly emphasizing on knowledge of model rather than procedural coding. Till date ASCEND has been widely employed in simulating chemical process models but it can also be used for general purpose modeling and simulation. Read more
